SCHOOL; don't ignore signs of high-risk students
- Teachers and parents can reduce the harm associated with alcohol and drug abuse in our schools. Resources have been developed to help understand drug abuse and help stakeholders work with children and adolescents, utilizing programs tailored for specific age groups.
- Teachers and parents have open-communication
- Catch student being good and give with positive feedback
- School-wide activity on citizenship, skits, invite model celebrity to share experiences
COMMUNITY ADDICTION PREVENTION
- Besides schools and workplaces, governments focus addiction prevention efforts as part of a broader public health initiative. Special populations in our communities that are targeted include injection drug users; pregnant mothers; sex workers; impaired drivers; and gay, lesbian, bisexual & transgender (GLBT).

- Do not be angry, you will push them away
- Do not yell, they are scared as you are and yelling will make the problem worse
- Support them or they won't talk
- Assure child that they can trust you and tell them you love them
- Talk about the changes and how it makes you feel
- Let them know they can talk to you
- Listen more than talk
